I’m influenced by many landscape painters and artists of all media that can capture the beauty and essence of place. I attempt to translate the feeling that drove me to stop and really look at the landscape. I often saturate colors, to deepen the imagery and heighten the impact of the scene.
In addition to studies at art schools including PAFA and ASLNY, I practiced as an urban planner for over 25 years in New York and Philadelphia, specializing in new and revitalized urban parks in large urban areas. This professional practice ingrained in me a love for places of nature even in the densest areas and to find solace in places of quiet and expanse.
